Premise Alert Program

On August 28th, 2009 the Illinois Premise Alert Program (PAP) Act became effective in Illinois. PAP is a database of individuals with special needs that is to be kept in a computer aided dispatch (CAD) database and is to be maintained by public safety agencies at the request of families, caregivers or individuals with disabilities or special needs. The PAP Act allows families to voluntarily notify the police and first responders about their special circumstances free of any charge. To be included in the database, complete the PAP Enrollment form.

Medical Waste Disposal

The current waste disposal contractor does not offer a service to dispose of medical waste. Waste Management, however, offers a safe, confidential and cost-effective medical waste disposal system to the communities we serve. It provides individuals, companies and institutions a way of disposing of used hypodermic needles , lancets, test strips and other medical waste. Each system includes a specially designed container, a postage-prepaid return box and tracking form; to ensure your medical waste will be delivered safely by the U.S. Postal Service to a certified medical waste resource recovery facility for destruction.

There are 5 container sizes available that meet all local, state and federal requirements and provide a worry-free, responsible and safe needle disposal system. Order the one that best fits your volume of use.

To get more information or place an order, please visit Waste Management at www.wastemd.com or contact customer service via email at: wmhsinfo@wm.com or call (866) 931-6321.

Illinois Warrior Assistance Program

The Illinois Department of Veteran Affairs proudly launched the Illinois Warrior Assistance Program (IWAP) to help meet the ongoing needs of our Veteran population. This program provides confidential assistance for Illinois Veterans as they transition back to their everyday lives after serving our country. IWAP's goal is to help service members and their families deal with the emotional and psychological challenges they may be facing after combat.

The Illinois Warrior Assistance Program is a first-in-the-nation program that screens all returning Illinois National Guard members for a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) while offering the screening to all Illinois Veterans. The program also includes a 24-hour toll-free confidential, psychological help line - 1-866-554-IWAP (4927) - staffed by health professionals to assist veterans, day or night, suffering from symptoms associated with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
